Freedom To Choose Our Words

by

Remember hearing “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”?

I believe everything in our world has a vibration, including words. Those vibrations can have an effect on us good or bad.

The most famous experiments on the effects of words are from Dr. Emoto. He carried out several experiments with water using both the spoken and written word. According to his findings, words do hurt. To see Dr. Emoto’s work click here:

Since our bodies are made up of approximately 60 percent water, imagine how the words we speak—about ourselves and others—affect us and those around us?

We have the freedom to choose our words

We all have the freedom to choose our words positive or negative. Whatever we are choosing is effecting our lives more than we realize and something I am personally working on. We can choose to use negative words or absolutes like I am always going to be broke, or I am never going to be thin. Instead, we can reframe the words to be positive like I am working towards financial freedom and I am working on being healthy. One of the first things to be aware of is what do you say often that come after the two words I AM?

How do you eliminate negative words

One of the things I have started to do is to eliminate thoughts that create a negative feelings, replacing them with 3 things I am grateful for. When I feel like complaining, the first thing I do is try speak one positive thing about the situation no matter how simple. Another habit I have started is writing 2 positive things about someone that I am feeling not so great about. Just starting my day off that way generates a more positive outlook for my day and brightens the day of the person receiving it.

I think it is important to remember that the quality of your words determines the quality of your relationships. The quality of your relationships determines the quality of your life.
